A Little Extra from Ghana

Just a few extra pictures and notes from Ghana:

A trip to the country of Togo. Sort of! We had every intention of going to Togo which is a small neighboring country but we simply ran out of time. It's amazing how quickly 12 days has gone by. The next best thing was to at least visit the Togolese embassy:

We found some really good, authentic Ghanaian restaurants. The restaurants were usually completely outdoors in a beautiful setting:

A fire truck: Drivers are supposed to yield to vehicles with sirens but most didn't and the police/fire/ambulances fended for themselves in traffic.

A visit to the Peace Corps office: 25 years ago, my husband served in the Peace Corps in Ghana and in Côte d'Ivoire so we had to take a picture outside of the Peace Corps office:

Grocery shopping at the chain ShopRite. The store had almost everything we would have wanted in terms of groceries. The brands were different and the selection was far more limited but it would serve its purpose. There were frozen foods, snacks, and juices/pop.

Cereal

Alternative milks

Feminine products

Baking items!

Hot food bar available in the grocery store:

Money, money, money! Bills (Cedis) and coins (pesawas).

Instructions on how to use the toilet in the mall. This may seem silly to you but people around the world don't all dispose of bodily functions the same way and a bit of guidance on using a seated toilet is needed.

Stores in our neighborhood:
